Clock Rate

Posted on by

In computing, Clock Rate also known as Clock Speed is the number of frequencies generated by clock generator in a processor measured in Hertz which indicates the speed of the processor in the computing device.

An unit of the Clock Rate is known as Clock Cycle or Clock Tick which is a combination of positive (1) and negative (0) square pulse. The time taken for a clock cycle is clock period.

The clocking generated by the clock generator synchronizes all the operations happening across the computer. The clock speed defines the speed at which the CPU does it’s work. The higher the clocking, the higher the speed of Computer to execute and process the instructions.
