Energy

Posted on by

Energy is defined as the ability to do work. It is measured in Joule (J) named after Physicist
James Prescott Joule who discovered the relationship between mechanical energy and heat energy which led to “Law Of Conversation” which states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed but can be converted from one form to another.

Energy is categorized as

Kinetic Energy is a property of moving object.

Potential Energy is stored energy in an object.

Based on the source, the energy can be classified as following:

Renewable Energy is the energy that comes from renewable sources which doesn’t deplete.

Non-Renewable Energy is the energy that comes from non-renewable which depletes.

The following are types of energy:

  • Heat
  • Light
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Chemical
  • Nuclear
  • Sound
